The eWAVE project has taken an important step towards maximising its long-term impact with the first Key Exploitable Results (KERs) Exploitation Workshop, organised by IfM Engage, the knowledge transfer arm of the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), part of the University of Cambridge’s Department of Engineering.
The workshop on 3 September 2026 brought together project partners to begin identifying the most promising results emerging from eWAVE and to explore how these innovations can create value beyond the project’s lifetime. Through a structured discussion, participants assessed potential Key Exploitable Results, considered opportunities for future uptake and deployment, and discussed the next steps required to realise their full impact.
A key objective of the workshop was to prioritise the project’s most significant results for the development of dedicated exploitation roadmaps. These roadmaps will help guide future activities, supporting the transition of eWAVE innovations from research and development towards real-world applications in the maritime sector.
By focusing not only on technological progress but also on future adoption and value creation, eWAVE is ensuring that its innovations can contribute to the ongoing transition towards safer, more efficient, and more sustainable electric shipping.
